Quack Quake

Wrote this poem a few years ago(2005) in the wake of Kashmir Quake that rocked the Kashmir valley on a gloomy morning, the heaven of India's crown.

It goes like this....

He came early in the morning,
not the sun nor light did it bring,
just the doom for thousand lives,
on the back of death they did cling.

He betrayed the bright destiny,
by giving the pills of long sleep,
to those who hoped to start,
a sunny and lucky day and life.

He knew not the needs of people,
but only the time when it had
to come,
and turn the buildings and
dreams into the slums.

On earth, rested the sky-high towers,
and all the almighty larks,
and this unqualified, un-awaited,
guest did come to
quack us all.

The school, a temple did stand
last night,
to groom young minds whose,
future was bright.
But the sun did not shine,
the death did.
The future's inhabitants were
compressed under concrete structures,
wailing were their parents reading,
the graveyard scriptures.

It knew no bounds whether
POK or LOC but knew its
time to come and go, leaving
behind a pall of dense blurred,
futuristic snow.

Village........

'Village'...... and some images breeze past your retinal camera........ Those green fields..scarecrows....women besides the lake or the well....farmers ploughing the Goddess. My village that nestles in the Himachal Pradesh, called 'devbhoomi' or land of Gods. It can be located from far as those mud coloured huts can be viewed amidst the fields having two or three odd trees in the middle. Truly a site to behold.I forget all the woes on seeing that heavenly abode of serenity and greenery. Those stony paths, that lead amongst the tiny space between two neighboring houses, better call them 'homes'. Simple food, festivity on every little occasion and pro-nature activities allow them to be festive moods everyday, mega as compared to the city's so-called 'cool - guys' and similar such approaches that do nothing, but conceal their woes and chores. The nation's happiness lies in the rural, howsoever tech-blessed your cities are!!!!

TIME......

If I am asked to imagine the strangest event in my life or tell the one which actually happened and was far beyond understanding, I would definitely say that it is the PASSAGE OF TIME. I sit at my seat in class, I imagine that just yesterday another one like us was sitting on the same seat listening to the teacher and now he has headed to a different venture in his life. He has reached at a different juncture in his life, and soon I will be replaced by another who will perform same routines that I have been into. This way, the life moves on, the Shakespeare's seven ages, seven roles will have to be performed by us all till we face THE DAY OF DECISION. My idea should not be linked to a pessimistic approach towards life. Life has in for us, whatever we want. It covers all the flavors, all seasons, all the deadly situations, all the moments of joy and all sorts of people to deal with. We have to squeeze the fruit of life lest it gets rotten and we realize that it's all over. Do enjoy every moment of your life, don't ever say this is a boring moment or day because that moment or day will wastefully become history with no output to aim of your life. Life Is The Most Precious Gift That Has Been Bestowed To Us By Him.

Early To Bed, Early To Rise

The famous quote has a lot of significance in our lives. I used to sleep early in my school days, but hostel has much to offer during the night time. All we owlish guys, become active during the night and sleep with a word of 'GOOD MORNING'.Going against the laws of nature deserves and surely has to confront nature's fury. It's a bad habit , I will try to make up for it and may God help me in my judgments!!!!

It's HARD to believe he EXISTED

I find many of people around me who blame Gandhiji for split of India and thousand other reasons. It is not their fault, but the anomaly lies in the thinking that has been propagated that Gandhi's decision was the sole factor for India's partition. Man, you could see the circumstances at that particular moment, Britishers were all in favor of Pakistan and Jinnah had been pressing for that demand. To stop the reckless throat-slit campaign between hindus and muslims, there was no method left and how could one see that silently. Any way those who criticize him, are not worth calling so-called 'critics'. I can't even imagine that such a man who could single-handedly turn the tide in his favor with humanitarian causes, abiding by the law. How could he beat all the odds to become a renowned lawyer in South Africa ? Self-confidence, confidence on truth's triumph and honesty solely leaded his way to the top of humanity. Maintaining the nationalist feeling all throughout he led wherever he went, it is damn right that he was the principal architect of free India which we live in. Moreover, the principles that he propagated of truth and non-violence, I really find him hard to believe. I pray to God that even if the whole world decides to defy Gandhi, still please help me follow his principles and serve the nation before myself. May this birthday be a boost for all working for humanitarian purposes.......Ode to HIM.................

We Need Villages Inside Cities..........

Cities in which we dwell, have all the amenities that people seldom interact with each other except at some ceremonies or money matters. So the centres of human excellence i.e. the cities just have money earning robos, not humans. Those who see villages as the downtrodden places, are in fact, senseless. It is here, where villages' are a lot to be learnt from. The humane atmosphere a village has, the extinct boundaries between two households, sense of belongingness and spirit of being united in any grief or celebration , all these factors are missing from a city life. Pomp and show at religious and traditional activities that give immense joy need to be inherent part of city life. Man has always striven for excellence; he has to do the same in case of human relations and further development of humane feelings, if he does not do that , all the rest advances are futile.

Remember Him All The Times

Consider the moment of time when you have won a race, or tasted a success or enjoying a party heartily ; at that particular moment you are ecstatic and to you, whole world seems enjoying your success. You don't try to thank somebody for that success, all is forgotten in the joy of a win. And at the times when the whole nature seems going against you, failures provide a daunting track in your life, there is one thing we remember , the Almighty, we pray, fast, lament and do all rituals to deter the destiny going against you. Our indifference to God in the times of joy brings bad luck to us, our spirit to fight degrades, we fault at not considering failures as the testing times and fail to prove our mettle. So do remember all the times, thank him for all things, all situations he gives, because 'whatever happens, happens for the best'.

Diversity

You just see the faces you come across everyday. Different faces altogether, with no possibility of a match and all with particular tastes, nature and talents, following numerous religions and having their own set of beliefs about the world. One has a particular nature, other is quite opposite to him, but can't be called wrong, THAT'S WHAT IS DIVERSITY , COEXISTENCE WITHOUT DIFFERENCES HAVING LOADS OF DIFFERENCES.... it's the characteristic of human beings alone........we need to preserve it and live peacefully.

Disregard the living gems, Respect the coffins - That Should NOT Happen

It has been seen that many people who were once successful in their lives, have fallen down so much that they could not recover from so-called pangs of fate. People idol-worship the personalities, when their time is good i.e they are on top of their careers, but with their(famous personalities') degrading careers, selfish people (who tend to find entertainment from some source or the other) turn their face away from their gods. But when the same person dies, the same people leave no stone unturned in lavishing praises on them, recounting their experiences with them and media too tries to shows the same personality's greatness...but I question why only after death only. Can't you realize person's artistic genius when he is alive though he may have fallen on bad days... This is quite prevalent in India, where I have see many personalities( bollywood or sports ) leave this world with bad memories. People need to understand it.

Smile Is What I Want From You

All that I have wanted for the humanity is to enjoy this stint as the most sociable creatures. Sullen faces have become the order of the day of one and all. The woes of life :- social, economic, emotional, spiritual all have put into their thoundrous efforts to do that. And I it is sad on our part that we have fallen prey to these stigmas. A smile has much importance in our day -to-day life. Like a perfect healer, it does a lot to control the bad thoughts of us all, which we may develop against each other in our lives. You can have a perfect smile, if your inner person is in high spirits. The face shows all the states of our inner selves. A smile is hope-raiser in many forms, people usually dare not talk with the sullen faces, a smart smiliing persons arouses everybody’s attention. It is a gem part of the personality, you see, hospitality and confidence can easily be seen through the smile. No doubt, you could have a mysterious smile like Mona Lisa, unless people around you start suspecting you….. Good costume is incomplete without gems , so is human body without a smile.
