With only 8 left from our group, today was really a good day for our batch. Around 15 people got placed in Yahoo, Citrix and Ivy Comptech. A 10-day-long ordeal of going early in the morning in formals to listen to the boring PPT (except the slide demonstrating the compensation part), qualifying in the written tests and then getting rejected in the interviews for one bad reason or the other, was really taxing. Our distraught faces were really beginning to have those helpless looks, but today it was today when I got placed in Ivy Comptech after Patil. Bahl called to Papa immediately congratulating him, then I called Mom and also got a call from Chacha and Kalu. Though she never went to school officially, but grandmother immediately converted the monthly salary into the annual package by multiplying it by 12 !!
The biggest surprise, however, was Nani's placement just an hour ago from now, in Yahoo. He was selected along with Bade Uncle and GS. He has really made our group proud. It was in the middle of this 10-day-marathon, he became a little distraught, but a call from home just lightened his mood. He would go all the way to NBH, giving senti dialogues of life, that how failure is a phase that everybody should see and then overcome. All this patient wait, has left him with so good. I'm too happy for buchi. We tore his shirt, vest and shanks even ripped apart his pants with a scissor, all this fiasco and hustle happened on the stretch between the canteen and the newly implanted tree in front of OBH.
A very exciting phase in our college life, that which one waits from the day one has almost come to an end. Thanks to SPC members, especially chondu who was extremely happy, the moment news of my selection was broken. It was like .. someone really cares, so honest, so kind, he was the happiest person around, Mai even went on to call papa directly. Thanks to Mai, Sinha and Sai for all their pro-activeness at all the times.
The remaining guys will be placed in next 1 or 2 days. 8: TBTGNYDMASSATRa.OneL are left. Gonna enjoy with them soon!! All the best guys.

College : The Final Year
Just yesterday, we were among the ones being oriented in the Guest House lawns and today we are in the final year, on verge of being pushed further into our lives. These 3 years have passed so fast, but what a pleasant and joyous this journey has been. A wonderful friend circle that has given us numerous lighter moments as well as minor conflicts. In the similar way, life will pass, just when we were lamenting it is too painful.
All will remain is memories, those moments, that fun, that bc, those groupings in the middle of the night, get-togethers at Pintoo's Juice corner and at Cafe (regulars such as Dhingra), teasing each other for their gfs (like dhingra) until they cried (like pranav).
Baharhaal, let's see what the final year has got in it for us. Hope it becomes all the more exciting. Time to go to college tomorrow for the commencement of the 7th semester. :)

Summer '11
Somewhat different from the previous summers, this time, it was at college. I had internship at Model N for 2 months mid-May to mid-July. Now, it's almost over, with day of presentations near.
I got a good schedule, finally. That included getting up early (not as early as Bahl who wakes up at 5:30 for gym) and having breakfast. Working at Model N, was a good experience. Working with deadlines, and short-term goals helps work remain on track. I will remember my VirtualBox Downloads folder, despite warning from their sysadmin that I should better stop the downloads. But who cares, it's the age of Violations!!
We also went to Coorg, a hill station in Karnataka farther than Mysore. Wonderful experience, in the least, to say.
Thursday Evening: 10 of us [Me, Mani, Shukla, Yadav, Mota, Sikkim, Bahl, Saxena, Bhatia, Jasmeet] get on GR, to reach Bangalore the next morning (AC bus with '3 Idiots' movie on).
Friday Morning : We meet Goyal, Reddy and Nachu, head towards Mysore from there. There we see Maharaja Palace, and then head towards Coorg. Reach Coorg in the evening, it's dark there and raining. We spend that night at Reddy's dad's acquaintance's guest house. With Reddy, Bhatia, Mani, Chickla, Yadav, Sikkim and Sucky in the attic, doing naughty things, we sleep properly to get up next morning and head towards having the best adventure sports experience of my life. River-rafting in Kaveri river, made better with sweet drizzle. With us split into 2 groups on our rafts, we fiercely compete with each other and finally it's our raft that relishes victory (me, jas, sikkim, sucky, nachu and mota). We also get to swim in the river with our life jackets on, at a particular spot. In future, I'll have my own raft and go rafting through those stretches.
Then we visit Golden Temple of Buddhists, a monastery in a remote corner of Karnataka. I wonder why did they find that particular place in whole India to build up a monastery, far-off from the origin, maybe to spread their religion. Yup, can be or it is !
Finally in the evening, we shift to a hotel, with 3 in each room. As expected, a 'kambal' is stolen. Next day we head to waterfalls and jungle adventure. It shall be remembered for ages, that Kulta and Bahl were bitten by leeches (previously thought to be 'leaches' by me until I was corrected by someone). Bahl was literally ***ed by them as 8 of them clung on to him one by one. Even after coming back to college, he claimed, that he dreamed of them and only got up to check his feet once to confirm that they were really gone. Haha !!
Thereafter, we enjoyed in a waterfall nearby. Gigantic, it was, not that popular among tourists because of it's sheer might. Chilling water, and it was 'bachao bachao' by Maeee that became famous. lolvaa!!
Sunday Night we leave for Reddy's home in Bangalore, have some real fun in the bus, with Goyal and Jas sitting behind two ladies, and trying to woo them. As expected, everything remains in their minds. Next morning, we land at Reddy's home only to find out that one of us has been left alone in local bus. Maeee it is, he was dozing off in the bus. It's Monday morning, we sleep a bit and get a nice breakfast at Reddy's and then head towards Malls to admire beauties. After covering the Mall (Reddy writes LOL on a poster of a local college claiming to be in top 10 colleges of India), we land at Brigade Road, full of patakhez from all corners of the world. They keep on coming, coming as if they're never ending, you're free for your entire life.
In the evening, a cock-sucker, who has been a neta throughout, is disturbed to find that nobody pays attention to him anymore. Shamelessly, he bursts on me. Bullshit !!
Anyways, we board the train back to college on Monday night. Kulta joins us as well. That night in train, Jas is wooed by a girl with mustache and the coronation of the word 'Masala' takes place on Bhatia.
Finally we reach the college in the morning with our wet clothes and paraphernalia to end a wonderful trip with friends. \BC/

Balloons
There was a time when we were fascinated by colorful balloons, those were days of our innocence and purity. Going down the memory lane....
A frail hand,
a smooth string, and
the colourful worlds,
they scintillate my screen,
when I rewind.
Events flash,
when he would come selling,
he colourful, the hued bubbles,
uneasy, colliding, waiting,
to be free.
His dusty skin, expectant eyes,
shone when we appeared,
ours too, on seeing him.
The desperation, to get one
of those worlds,
to run along with them,
to fly with them,
to the worlds they go alone.
No such desperation, no such wait,
no such merry times,
what's it now ??
Heaven was there,
hell's here.
A frail hand,
a smooth string, and
the colourful worlds,
they scintillate my screen,
when I rewind.
Events flash,
when he would come selling,
he colourful, the hued bubbles,

Mother
I can confirm the existence of God in the form of a single word called 'mother'. This poem describes how a boy living in some slum watches his mother working hard to make their both ends meet and has some wishes to make. Ode to Mom :)
Quietly, she runs the house,
she bears the smoke from the burning wood,
that sickens her lungs,
but asks us to stay away from
the smoke.
She tries to ignite the dying fire,
to cook what all we've got,
the scarcity, the poverty prevails.
She bears the heat, but all smiles for
me.
She feeds me well, bite by bite,
and sets my shabby hair right.
This affection, this care,
and she's the angel.
So much, you know, as big as this room,
she does for me,
that I shall do something great one day,
for her,
to care for,
all the care I've been blessed with.
She'll face no problem no more,
a big house, we'll get
and a big car to take her to
the places she wishes for.
There shall be no smoke no more,
and my mother will cook,
with hopes and smiles, that
she has today, right now.
Quietly, she runs the house,
she bears the smoke from the burning wood,

Knowing Her
Through this poem I try to recollect an old lady, she was my aunt's grandmother. Once in summer holidays of school days, me and my brother had gone to my aunt's maternal. Living with the oldies, shows how they're treating life and how life is treating them.
The bags of hanging skin,
studded with wrinkles of age,
locks of vintage hair,
thick glasses,
quite dusty,
blocking the already dim light,
an old suit, that loosely
fits her frail physique,
the overgrown nails on
the bony feet.
Pitiable, isn't she ?
But she lives inside,
not out.
“Thanks” on her lips,
blessings in her eyes,
even if I just bring her
a glass of water.
They confide in us young ones,
when their elder ones
misbehave.
She tries hard to read
the scriptures,
to undo the sins committed,
if any I think so,
through the lenses,
of her experience,
that she has amassed
till now.

The Aftermath
Wrote this poem sometime during the last (6th) semester. Had taken a creative writing course under Rebecca ma'am. It was fun exploring different aspects of poetry under her, hope that affects my poems in a positive manner.
In this time,
the gravest of all,
lie the leg and the rod,
still and stern.
A hand turns out,
from the rubble;
some grasping breaths.
The eyes hopeful,
of finding someone alive.
Some albums,
the celebrations,
lie trampled in furniture,
Some toys swept away
by the waves,
of loot, of loss,
of disaster.
But those days,
will return,
bustling streets will emerge
amongst the
still rubble,
and homes resound,
with the laughs,
that will defeat,
the silence
that prevails today.

We witnessed it... India's World Cup Triumph 2011
Happy to be alive in this era, this time when India won its second World Cup on 2 April 2011 in Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium. What a wonderful World Cup it has been. So many highs and lows, overcoming strong teams such as Australia, Sri Lanka and of course, the arch rivals Pakistan, but it is a dream come true for 1.2 billion people (census reports were released a few days ago), for Sachin who has been awaiting this moment for over 2 decades of his career. Why should God Of Cricket not get this honor which only a few players have got till now, he is on the verge of century of centuries in the international cricket.
Now, where were we, at this historic moment, at the time of lofty six that Dhoni blasted straight over the ropes. In Kulta's room, witnessing the moment on his 21 inch LCD screens, fitting tight each other with Chikla occasionally meddling with the person lying along with him :P . It was fun watching along with bc-gang, lolmax comments on each advertisement, mine occasional verbal assault on Kulta and Bucha. We enjoyed watching the matches in company of Kachua (Bhatia), Chikla-&-Goyal, Fodu (who meddled with buchi time and again), Shanks, Sikkim (for filling in the url of the proxy sites enabling fast streaming), gubbaara-&-Ashok. We saw India's semi-final match against Pakistan in the adjoining stadium no the giant screens, but had come back after Sachin was out. It was much better when watched in room, at least we could see what the score was.
When Dhoni hit the ultimate six, we went mad, berserk, buchi jumping madly as if somebody had put two drops of vodka into his mouth. We went on walk, bakchodi walk in the college campus with unfulfilled aim of teasing any couple we may meet in our way (too much isn't it?), just jokin'. We sat in Cafeteria as usual for some time before sitting at the circle near Library (how big is it??). We will remember that it was in our times, that we had witnessed such fine game of cricket that at one stage seemed, that it had slipped out of the hands of India before Dhoni and Gambhir played memorable innings to award the cup to the thoroughly deserving team, our India, mother India.
