Rises !!

It was 'The Dark Knight Rises' last night. Hardly have I waited for a movie this eagerly. Each and every dialogue from the 'The Batman Begins' and  'The Dark Knight' houses a philosophy. Frankly, it's too difficult to comprehend what Nolan's thinking at any point. A repeated watching of 'The Dark Knight' has led me (and all around me) to understand it better. But still, hardly do I see some time in future, when I may say 'Ok, enough, it's too boring now to watch the same movie again'. Add to the previous two movies, 'Rises'. And this trilogy shall be watched again and again.

I had already plunged into its OST before watching the movie. So as the movie unfolds, the similar tunes that are a perfect continuation of what Zimmer had done in scoring the Joker's clever tactics. Best ever OST you can hear !! Guess what, which song is being played right now? It's 'Imagine the Fire'. Bale has done a commendable job as usual. Bane unleashes his fury ruthlessly, giving a tough competition to what Joker did. But they're quite different : Joker's more psychological, Bane's pure muscle power. Coming back to the music, Zimmer's masterpieces contribute to each and every dialogue which already has loads of meaning to it. 'Gotham's Reckoning' - the ominous tune that is played while Bane escapes from the plane, is another great track in this movie.

Nevertheless, it deserves to be watched many more times in the IMAX - and it shall be done. You feel really   'happy' in appreciation of creation of such masterpieces by experts in their field, how they stretch their imagination as well as ours. I did experience it last night. I hope that I adapt some of qualities of the 'Caped Crusader', we face the same questions in our lives - getting inspiration and hope and applying it should be the key. My heart goes out to those affected by killings in Aurora, USA. He did real wrong in emulating the joker. The red-haired psycho has to repent his entire life. The movie certainly tops my all-time favorites and shall continue to do so (until Nolan's next movie's out in theaters :D).

'The Dark Knight Rises'. Awe, what better can you get than this one ?

The Tribune and The Hindu

To me, these newspapers are their siblings in north and south India respectively. They possess loads of similarities. Simple layout, way different from exaggerated 'times', near-perfect editing, objective reporting and limited news of Tinsel Town - all make them stand a class apart. While The Hindu has lately succumbed to over-advertising, with its front pages no longer having news and instead, giving in to those ads by housing apartments for eg. 'Aparna Township' bla bla bla.... , The Tribune, on other hand, still gives importance to content. However, their Lifestyle supplement tries to go the wrong way by copying the 'Times' counterpart. Whatsoever, these 'Simple Fellas' definitely have a long and a revered history in their respective regions and they're definitely worth reading.

Last exam : Optimization Methods
Instructor :   C.V. Jawahar
Preparation : Fucked Up, Never gave 100% to any exam here in the entire 4-year span.
Today, finally endsems ended, a golden era of 4 years has ended along with it. IIITH, that will be cherished forever, the place where I met wonderful people, broke the shackles of homesickness after a dramatic struggle, found misplaced love in virtual world (no more), found friends in music and the game, Football. The part of the day, you eagerly look forward to. You imagine it, when away from it. It is related to "passion" that I have come across in loads of people here.

Time and again, I have been left dissatisfied with the effort I devoted to what was important. I hope I will keep the promises made to myself. Time and again, I've tried something new, but not always; thirst for knowledge still lacks, thirst for truth exists but has not been attended to. I have brought smiles on people's faces but only through witty remarks and not through my efforts. Some wonderful sojourns have studded this life. Vizag, Coorg, Goa (and coming up Sikkim) have seemed to happening places because of their uniqueness and our benign presence as well. Elite professors have taught us, in particular, our Bond batch, but I haven't cared much to learn that much. I hope that this time serves as a lesson for me to live life that awaits me further.

As of this particular moment, the latest news is that, Bayern Munich defeated Real Madrid (penalties) to set up summit clash in Champions League Finals with Chelsea at Munich. 3 days more left in hostel, the lovely place and weather we have been eye-witness to.

Experts

I read this while reading a course book ('The Art of Multiprogramming'), pretending to prepare for the last examinations. Here it goes,

A tourist takes a taxi in a foreign town. The taxi driver speeds through a red light. The tourist, frightened, asks “What are you are doing?” The driver answers: “Do not worry, I am an expert.” He speeds through more red lights, and the tourist, on the verge of hysteria, complains again, more urgently. The driver replies, “Relax, relax, you are in the hands of an expert.” Suddenly, the light turns green, the driver slams on the brakes, and the taxi skids to a halt. The tourist picks himself off the floor of the taxi and asks “For crying out loud, why stop now that the light is finally green?” The driver answers “Too dangerous, could be another expert crossing."

22G now :)

ਅਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਹੁਣ "ਬਾਈ ਜੀ" ਬਣ ਗਏ ਹਾਂ !! Thronged on fb were numerous wishes from my well wishers. Thanks a lot to them (for bearing me in some form or the other). Was woken up early by Mom's call, somehow listened to her half-asleep, those instructions to get up early and have a bath (at least once a year, betaa :P ). Then again, slept merrily. Until the mundane classes started. Chemistry professor as usual, brought in his innovative ways to bore us. And then, after lunch, watched a movie 'Siddhartha' as part of our course EduAndSelf. Haha, an interesting movie (for those 5 minutes you know). Then a quiz, as CVJ comes back with his old ways to haunt us. But the good part of the day was the visit to Chawadi Orphanage, those shining faces, readily conversing in English, asking, inquiring fluently. Distributed some bananas, biscuits and toffees there. Shandi, Maee, Jas and Family accompanied. Came back from there. After having dinner, went to cafe at around midnight, from thereon moved to witness the dance practices - as lazy as never. Gearing up for the fest the day after and right now writing ending this post :)

Happy New Year

The tough phase of placements is over, it was full of anxiety and loads of tensions. Shirts were torn, Gubbu's and Yadav's pants too. Few days at home were both cool and cold, now gearing for the visit to home once again. Lohri it is, finally, after a gap of 3 long years, I will celebrate it at home. Kites !! These days, we all are grappling with freaking course allocation. 'Lottery portal' came in today, its' results and blunders are expected by tomorrow. Football adorns the evenings, plans to join gym are still being 'plan'ned. My entire music collection was wiped off due to a diseased hard disk. In British accent, 'Blowdy Hell'. College gone, job on - two important stages of life will happen this year, 2012. A very happy new year to all !! Despite the bad omens forecasting doomsday in 2012, I hope that I am able to write a post next year too, welcoming 2013. :)
